| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Charles Bultena, associate professor of |

| 3 | 3 | | management at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, is |

| 4 | 4 | | the recipient of a 2021 Piper Award; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The premier teaching accolade in Texas higher |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | education, the Piper Award is presented to 10 professors each |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | year in recognition of their dedication and their superior |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | instruction at the college level; the Piper Professor Program |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | gives awards of $5,000 each to honorees, and selection is based |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | on nominations submitted by colleges and universities in the Lone |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Star State; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In 1995, Dr. Bultena changed careers after |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | working 14 years as an engineer to pursue his love for teaching; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | he is committed to providing the best instruction possible for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | his students, adapting from in-person classes to the challenges |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of remote education while consistently striving to create a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | meaningful and memorable learning experience; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, An MSU alumnus, Dr. Bultena earned a business |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | administration degree at Midwestern State in 1981 and a master of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | business administration degree in 1989; he obtained a Ph.D. in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | organizational behavior and human resource management from the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | University of North Texas in 1998; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding educator exemplifies the highest |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | standards of his vocation, and he is indeed deserving of this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Dr. Charles Bultena on |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | receiving a 2021 Piper Award and extend to him sincere best |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
