5	6		BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
6	7		Legislature, Regular Session, 2021, That Senate Rule 12.03 be
7	8		suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the
8		-	conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on
9		-	Senate Bill 155 (the use of certain information regarding voter
10		-	qualification) to consider and take action on the following
11		-	matter:
12		-	Senate Rule 12.03(4) is suspended to permit the committee
13		-	to add text on a matter not included in either the house or senate
	9	+	conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on Senate
	10	+	Bill 155 (the use of certain information regarding voter
	11	+	qualification) to consider and take action on the following matter:
	12	+	Senate Rule 12.03(4) is suspended to permit the committee to
	13	+	add text on a matter not included in either the house or senate
14	14		version of the bill in proposed SECTION 1 of the bill, by amending
15	15		Section 16.0332(a), Election Code, and adding Subsections (a-1),
16	16		(d), and (e) to read as follows:
17	17		(a) After the registrar receives notification [a list]
18	18		under Subsection (a-1) of this section, Section 18.068 of this
19	19		code, or Section 62.113, Government Code, of persons excused or
20	20		disqualified from jury service because of citizenship status or
21	21		notification of persons who indicate a lack of citizenship status
22	22		in connection with a motor vehicle or Department of Public Safety
23		-	record, the registrar shall deliver to each registered voter
24		-	~~whose~~ name appears on the list a written notice requiring the
25		-	~~voter to~~ submit to the registrar proof of United States
26		-	~~citizenship in the~~ form of a certified copy of the voter's birth
27		-	~~certificate, United~~ States passport, or certificate of
28		-	~~naturalization or any other form~~ prescribed by the secretary of
29		-	~~state. The notice shall be delivered~~ by forwardable mail to the
30		-	~~mailing address on the voter's~~ registration application and to
31		-	~~any new address of the voter known~~ to the registrar.
32		-	(a-1) The secretary of state shall enter into an
33		-	~~agreement~~ with the Department of Public Safety under which
34		-	~~information in the~~ existing statewide computerized voter
35		-	~~registration list is~~ compared against information in the
36		-	~~database of the Department of~~ Public Safety on a monthly basis to
37		-	~~verify the accuracy of~~ citizenship status information previously
38		-	~~provided on voter~~ registration applications.
