| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Evelyn Dailey |

| 6 | 6 | | Johnson Nehls Ellison were deeply saddened by her death on |

| 7 | 7 | | September 26, 2020, at the age of 103; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The former Evelyn Dailey was born in Kelsey on |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | August 20, 1917, to Kirby and Bethany Dailey; she grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of seven sisters, Pat, Ruth, Elvis, Deeny, Miriam, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Maureen, and Faye, and a brother, Cecil; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Ellison raised six children, Douglas, Annette, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sandy, Dianne, Brenda, and Paul, with her first husband, Raymond C. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Johnson, who preceded her in death; she was also predeceased by her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | second and third husbands, J. B. Nehls and Johnnie Ellison; with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the passing years, Mrs. Ellison had the pleasure of seeing her |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | family grow to include 12 grandchildren, Todd, Russell, Stacy, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Darrellene, Terri, Chris, Tony, Kelli, Brandon, Britt, Bryce, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Eddie, and 30 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A woman of deep faith, Mrs. Ellison was a devoted |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | member of First Baptist Church in Gilmer and the Dorcas Sunday |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | school class; she delighted in gardening, bird-watching, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | cooking, crocheting, quilting, and making ceramics; above all |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | else, she treasured time spent with her family, and she often |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | cheered on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at sporting |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | events; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of more than a century, Evelyn |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Ellison lived a rich and purposeful life, and she will long be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby honor the memory of Evelyn Dailey Johnson |

| 33 | 33 | | Nehls Ellison and extend sincere sympathy to her loved ones; and, |
