| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, After nearly three decades of exemplary service |

| 3 | 3 | | in law enforcement, Tim Scott retired as chief of the Big Sandy |

| 4 | 4 | | Police Department on December 31, 2020; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Tim Scott began his 18-year tenure with the Big |

| 6 | 6 | | Sandy Police Department as a night patrolman; sworn in as the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | chief of police in 2006, he was responsible for a number of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | important developments through the years, including overhauling |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the agency's operations and policies and implementing the use of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | body cameras; moreover, he kept the department up-to-date by |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | establishing a fleet lease program and by securing more than |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | $150,000 in grants for officer training and equipment; he retired |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | as the longest-serving chief in department history; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Greatly admired by his colleagues for his skilled |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | leadership, professionalism, and commitment to excellence, Chief |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Scott may indeed take great pride in all that he has done to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | protect and serve his fellow Texans as he embarks on the next |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Tim Scott on his retirement as |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | chief of the Big Sandy Police Department and extend to him |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
