1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 87
2	2	WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to pay tribute to one
3	3	of its most treasured and respected employees, Tim Mateer, who is
4	4	retiring from his position in the Lieutenant Governor's
5	5	Reception Room on February 28, 2021; and
6	6	WHEREAS, After 18 years of outstanding service, Tim Mateer
7	7	is leaving his post in the Lieutenant Governor's Reception Room;
8	8	currently the lead server for Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick,
9	9	Tim has been serving lieutenant governors and their guests,
10	10	members of the Senate, and countless friends of the legislature
11	11	since 2003, and he has done so with exceptional dedication and
12	12	finesse; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Noted for his inimitable style and engaging
14	14	personality, Tim is the reception room's popular and welcoming
15	15	host; gregarious and knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects,
16	16	Tim is an affable and avid conversationalist, and legislators and
17	17	Capitol guests often visit the room to enjoy his camaraderie and
18	18	the convivial ambience; energetic and entertaining, Tim has also
19	19	been a much-sought-after host and server for a number of the
20	20	stately room's events and parties; and
21	21	WHEREAS, A colorful character with multiple talents and
22	22	interests, Tim is a gifted actor who has performed on Broadway, a
23	23	history and museum buff, and an ardent storyteller, and he has
24	24	delighted many an eager listener in the reception room with his
25	25	personal stories and his accounts of the Capitol's history and
26	26	the building's artwork and artifacts; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Tim Mateer is revered for his loyal and skillful
28	28	Senate service and beloved by all for his warmth and the joy he
29	29	brings to others; he is truly a cherished employee, and his
30	30	presence in the Lieutenant Governor's Reception Room will be
31	31	greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
32	32	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
33	33	Legislature, hereby express sincerest appreciation to Tim Mateer
34	34	for his many years of invaluable service and extend to him best
35	35	wishes for the future in all of his endeavors; and, be it further
36	36	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
37	37	honor of Tim Mateer.
