SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 89 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Billie Lynn Hodnett, who retired from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on January 29, 2021, after 60 years of exemplary service; and WHEREAS, Billie Hodnett joined the comptroller's office in 1959 as a member of the Store Tax division, where she assisted in printing metal tax identification cards that were assigned to every Texas store owner; and WHEREAS, She served the agency in numerous capacities over the years and always managed her responsibilities with exceptional skill and dedication; she was admired by staff and clients for her ever-present patience and kindness, and she set lasting standards for excellence in customer service in whatever position she served; and WHEREAS, Billie Hodnett was recognized by managers on numerous occasions for her commitment to her work on behalf of the citizens of Texas; she is highly regarded by her former colleagues, and her presence at the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, hereby commend Billie Lynn Hodnett on her outstanding career and her many contributions to the state and extend to her sincere best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
