| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Billie Lynn Hodnett, who retired from the Office of the |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Comptroller of Public Accounts on January 29, 2021, after 60 |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | years of exemplary service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Billie Hodnett joined the comptroller's office in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 1959 as a member of the Store Tax division, where she assisted in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | printing metal tax identification cards that were assigned to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | every Texas store owner; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, She served the agency in numerous capacities over |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the years and always managed her responsibilities with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | exceptional skill and dedication; she was admired by staff and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | clients for her ever-present patience and kindness, and she set |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | lasting standards for excellence in customer service in whatever |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | position she served; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Billie Hodnett was recognized by managers on |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | numerous occasions for her commitment to her work on behalf of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the citizens of Texas; she is highly regarded by her former |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | colleagues, and her presence at the Office of the Comptroller of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend Billie Lynn Hodnett on her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | outstanding career and her many contributions to the state and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | extend to her sincere best wishes for a happy and fulfilling |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | retirement; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
