| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Felder for their selfless actions |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | and assistance in helping to save the life of Sam Mills after a |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | car accident in Fort Bend County; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Antonio and Tamera Felder are both proud veterans |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of the United States Marine Corps; they are residents of Katy, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Texas, and on the night of December 26, 2020, while driving to an |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | area store, they spotted an overturned vehicle along the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | roadside; they immediately stopped their car and jumped out to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | investigate the accident; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, As they approached the scene, Mr. and Mrs. Felder |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | found the crashed vehicle empty, and they quickly began searching |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the field for accident victims; a second couple soon approached |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and offered assistance, and minutes later, a young man who was |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | fighting for his life was found lying on the ground; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Antonio called emergency services, and both |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | couples remained with the victim to encourage him to keep |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | breathing and to pray for his safety until the air transport |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | arrived to take him to the hospital; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, These conscientious Texans responded quickly and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | courageously to assist a stranger who was in dire need; they |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | represent the highest ideals of good citizenry, and they are indeed |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | deserving of recognition for the selfless actions they took in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | helping to save the life of Sam Mills; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby recognize Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Felder as |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | treasured citizens of the Lone Star State and extend to them best |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
