66 AN ACT
77 relating to a study on mold contamination in housing developments
88 supported by financial assistance administered by the Texas
99 Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. (a) In this section, "department" means the
1212 Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
1313 (b) Using existing resources, the department shall conduct
1414 a study on the number of incidents and causes of mold contamination
1515 in housing developments that are wholly or partly supported by
1616 financial assistance administered by the department.
1717 (c) Not later than November 1, 2022, the department shall
1818 prepare and submit to the legislature a written report that
1919 summarizes the results of the study conducted under this section
2020 and recommends a course of action for preventing and remediating
2121 incidents and causes of mold contamination in housing developments
2222 that are wholly or partly supported by financial assistance
2323 administered by the department.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act expires November 1, 2023.
2525 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the
2626 last day of the legislative session.
