| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 39.1513(d), Utilities Code, is amended | |
| 11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (d) The committee shall select members eligible under | |
| 13 | 13 | Section 39.151 to serve on the governing body of an independent | |
| 14 | 14 | organization certified under that section for the ERCOT power | |
| 15 | 15 | region and shall designate the chair and vice chair of the governing | |
| 16 | 16 | body from those members. When selecting members to serve on the | |
| 17 | 17 | governing body, the committee shall ensure that the governing body | |
| 18 | 18 | includes members who represent the various geographic regions of | |
| 19 | 19 | this state. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | |
| 21 | 21 | last day of the legislative session. |
