7 | 7 | relating to payments made to certain foster parents. | |
8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 264.101, Family Code, is amended by | |
10 | 10 | adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (a-3) In addition to the daily foster care reimbursement | |
12 | 12 | rate paid to a foster parent under this section, the department | |
13 | 13 | shall pay an additional amount equal to 40 percent of the daily | |
14 | 14 | foster care reimbursement rate paid to the foster parent if the | |
15 | 15 | foster parent: | |
16 | 16 | (1) cares for a foster child who is 16 years of age or | |
17 | 17 | younger; and | |
18 | 18 | (2) has an adjusted household income at or below 150 | |
19 | 19 | percent of the current federal poverty guidelines for the relevant | |
20 | 20 | household size. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | |
22 | 22 | last day of the legislative session. |
