6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas |
---|
7 | 7 | | have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and |
---|
8 | 8 | | workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives |
---|
9 | 9 | | in the pandemic was Frank Edward Rose, a dedicated and |
---|
10 | 10 | | well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal |
---|
11 | 11 | | Justice, who passed away on November 4, 2020, at the age of 56; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Born on February 28, 1964, in Belleville, Illinois, |
---|
13 | 13 | | Frank Rose graduated from Hardin-Simmons University and received |
---|
14 | 14 | | his teaching certificate from the University of Mary Washington; he |
---|
15 | 15 | | was employed for 27 years at the Windham School District, and he was |
---|
16 | 16 | | deeply respected for his work as a correctional educator for the |
---|
17 | 17 | | district's pre-release program CHANGES; in 1992, he helped open the |
---|
18 | 18 | | Robertson Unit in Abilene, where he was teaching at the time of his |
---|
19 | 19 | | passing; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rose was cherished by a family that included his |
---|
21 | 21 | | daughter, Sheridan, and his grandson, Ayden; he was also well-loved |
---|
22 | 22 | | by his coworkers, students, and graduates, all of whom were |
---|
23 | 23 | | impacted by his gift for encouraging others to embrace positive |
---|
24 | 24 | | change in their lives; he was always overjoyed to hear about |
---|
25 | 25 | | graduates who had successfully met the challenges of reentering |
---|
26 | 26 | | society, and he used these stories to inspire his current students |
---|
27 | 27 | | to work toward a brighter future for themselves; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Frank Rose faithfully and ably performed his duties |
---|
29 | 29 | | throughout his tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal |
---|
30 | 30 | | Justice, and he will long be remembered with great admiration by all |
---|
31 | 31 | | who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |
---|
32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
---|
33 | 33 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
---|
34 | 34 | | Frank Edward Rose and extend deepest sympathy to his family, |
---|
35 | 35 | | friends, and colleagues; and, be it further |
---|
36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
---|
37 | 37 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
---|
38 | 38 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Frank Rose. |
