| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in the pandemic was Rebecca Adauto Crowe, a dedicated and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Justice, who passed away on January 1, 2021, at the age of 73; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Crowe was admired for her strength of character |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and her unfailing generosity; she was devoted to her family, which |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | included her sons, Michael Crowe and the late Chris Crowe, her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | daughter-in-law, Melissa, her siblings, Olga, Julie, and Benny, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | her favorite niece, Julie Adauto-Day; she pursued many hobbies and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | interests, which included gardening, creating stained glass art |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | pieces, welding, and doing other projects around the home; over the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | past year, she had worked at the Victoria District Parole Office, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | where she endeared herself to her colleagues and made a lasting |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | impression on everyone; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Rebecca Crowe faithfully and ably performed her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | duties throughout her tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Justice, and she will long be remembered with great admiration by |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | all who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Rebecca Adauto Crowe and extend deepest sympathy to her family, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | friends, and colleagues; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rebecca |
