| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Shanon Biggerstaff retired as president of the Ozona |

| 7 | 7 | | Chamber of Commerce in 2021; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Biggerstaff brought a wealth of knowledge and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | expertise to the helm of the Ozona organization, having previously |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | spent a decade with the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce as its tour |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and convention coordinator; she was a strong advocate for small |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | businesses over the course of her 20-plus-year tenure in Ozona, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | coordinating with county, state, and federal agencies to provide |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | programs and workshops to grow the area economy and workforce; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | moreover, the chamber experienced a significant rise in membership |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | under her leadership; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Among her many accomplishments as president of the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Ozona chamber, Ms. Biggerstaff played a vital role in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | construction of a new visitor center, helping secure more than |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | $1 million in grant money for the facility; further, she oversaw |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the completion of a beautification streetscape project at |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Interstate 10 and State Highway 163, and she promoted the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | development and opening of the Crockett County Interpretive Trail |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and the Escondido Draw Recreational Area, also located in Crockett |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | County; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Earlier in her career, Ms. Biggerstaff served as |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | marketing director for the San Angelo Sheraton Hotel; additionally, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | she worked in the marketing divisions of stores in San Angelo and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | San Antonio; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Shanon Biggerstaff has made a lasting, positive |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | difference in Ozona and the surrounding region through her |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | exemplary service in behalf of her fellow citizens, and she may |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | indeed reflect with pride on her myriad achievements as she embarks |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | on the next exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 36 | 36 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Shanon |

| 37 | 37 | | Biggerstaff on her retirement as president of the Ozona Chamber of |
