| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | passing of Edgar Curtis Walker of Jefferson on June 25, 2021, at the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | age of 90; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on February 14, 1931, in Rosenberg, Ed Walker |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | was the son of Luther and Juanita Walker and grew up with the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | companionship of his brother, Bob; he graduated from Pine Tree High |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | School in 1949, and after a year in college, he answered his |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | nation's call to duty, serving in the U.S. Navy for four years; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In 1966, Mr. Walker enrolled in the 18th Texas Game |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Warden Training Academy, and he subsequently embarked on a long and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | rewarding career as a game warden; an avid outdoorsman, he loved to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | fish and hunt; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Walker and his first wife, Rosemary Walker, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | shared a fulfilling marriage that spanned nearly five decades |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | before her death; they were blessed with three children, Mike, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Charlotte, and Eddie, and with the passing years, their family grew |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to include six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 2003, he married Pat Walker, and they enjoyed 16 years together |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | before her death in 2020; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Although Ed Walker will be deeply missed, he has |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | of Edgar Curtis Walker and extend sincere sympathy to the members of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | his family: to his children, Mike Walker and his wife, Carol, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Charlotte Garcia and her husband, Agustin, and Eddie Walker and his |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | wife, Pat; to his grandchildren, James Walker and his wife, Meagan, |
