55 R E S O L U T I O N
66 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
77 passing of Edgar Curtis Walker of Jefferson on June 25, 2021, at the
88 age of 90; and
99 WHEREAS, Born on February 14, 1931, in Rosenberg, Ed Walker
1010 was the son of Luther and Juanita Walker and grew up with the
1111 companionship of his brother, Bob; he graduated from Pine Tree High
1212 School in 1949, and after a year in college, he answered his
1313 nation's call to duty, serving in the U.S. Navy for four years; and
1414 WHEREAS, In 1966, Mr. Walker enrolled in the 18th Texas Game
1515 Warden Training Academy, and he subsequently embarked on a long and
1616 rewarding career as a game warden; an avid outdoorsman, he loved to
1717 fish and hunt; and
1818 WHEREAS, Mr. Walker and his first wife, Rosemary Walker,
1919 shared a fulfilling marriage that spanned nearly five decades
2020 before her death; they were blessed with three children, Mike,
2121 Charlotte, and Eddie, and with the passing years, their family grew
2222 to include six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; in
2323 2003, he married Pat Walker, and they enjoyed 16 years together
2424 before her death in 2020; and
2525 WHEREAS, Although Ed Walker will be deeply missed, he has
2626 left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will
2727 forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
2828 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2929 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
3030 of Edgar Curtis Walker and extend sincere sympathy to the members of
3131 his family: to his children, Mike Walker and his wife, Carol,
3232 Charlotte Garcia and her husband, Agustin, and Eddie Walker and his
3333 wife, Pat; to his grandchildren, James Walker and his wife, Meagan,
3434 Terra Croley and her husband, Jeff, Melissa Armenta and her
3535 husband, Joe, Jon Eric Garcia and his wife, Loreta, Sara Walker, and
3636 Chad Walker; to his great-grandchildren, Remington, Walker, Tyler,
3737 Gabriel, Jacob, Caleb, Lucas, and Carter; to his stepchildren,
3838 Chuck Bailey, Mary Carpenter, and Rebecca Wampler; to his
3939 sister-in-law, Jean Cox; to his nieces, Rae Hoffacher and Karen
4040 Wheeler; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
4141 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4242 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4343 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ed Walker.
