| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Kaufman Lions Club are celebrating |

| 7 | 7 | | the 75th anniversary of the organization's baseball and softball |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | program in 2022; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Kaufman Lions Club began its baseball and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | softball program in 1947, when members moved an old set of stands |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | from a field in Fort Worth; the original field in Kaufman relocated |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | within the city twice between 1955 and 1969, and the Lions Club |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | teams have played at the City of Kaufman Sports Complex since 2002; |

| 14 | 14 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, the program has continued to grow, |

| 16 | 16 | | and it currently serves more than 400 young athletes each season; |

| 17 | 17 | | and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Kaufman Lions Club baseball |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and softball program has made a positive and lasting impact in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | lives of countless young Texans, and in so doing, it has contributed |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | greatly to the Kaufman community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 75th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | anniversary of the Kaufman Lions Club baseball and softball program |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and extend to all those associated with the organization sincere |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 28 | 28 | | prepared for the Kaufman Lions Club as an expression of high regard |
