| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Goldfish Swim School in Sugar Land is celebrating |

| 7 | 7 | | its one-year anniversary in July 2021; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The facility first opened in July 2020 in the midst |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of the COVID-19 pandemic, and over the course of a year, its staff |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | has grown from 10 to 45 employees, while its enrollment has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | increased from fewer than 100 to around 1,400 students; the school |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | is dedicated to helping children learn an important life skill in a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | caring, secure, and supportive environment; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Goldfish Swim School has been praised for its |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, which have earned |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the school a certificate of recognition from U.S. Representative |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Pete Olson; in collaboration with the autism advocacy group Hope |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | For Three, the facility provides lessons tailored to children with |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | autism and special needs, and its instructors work closely with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | parents to adapt teaching methods for each young client; the school |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | also offers free lessons to families receiving services from Child |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Advocates of Fort Bend and the Fort Bend Women's Center; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, During its first year, Goldfish Swim School has |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | distinguished itself as a valuable resource to many area families, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and all those involved with the school may take pride in knowing |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | that they have made an important contribution to their community; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Goldfish Swim |

| 30 | 30 | | School on its one-year anniversary and extend to the facility's |

| 31 | 31 | | owners, staff, and students sincere best wishes for the future; |
