55 R E S O L U T I O N
66 WHEREAS, Goldfish Swim School in Sugar Land is celebrating
77 its one-year anniversary in July 2021; and
88 WHEREAS, The facility first opened in July 2020 in the midst
99 of the COVID-19 pandemic, and over the course of a year, its staff
1010 has grown from 10 to 45 employees, while its enrollment has
1111 increased from fewer than 100 to around 1,400 students; the school
1212 is dedicated to helping children learn an important life skill in a
1313 caring, secure, and supportive environment; and
1414 WHEREAS, Goldfish Swim School has been praised for its
1515 partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, which have earned
1616 the school a certificate of recognition from U.S. Representative
1717 Pete Olson; in collaboration with the autism advocacy group Hope
1818 For Three, the facility provides lessons tailored to children with
1919 autism and special needs, and its instructors work closely with
2020 parents to adapt teaching methods for each young client; the school
2121 also offers free lessons to families receiving services from Child
2222 Advocates of Fort Bend and the Fort Bend Women's Center; and
2323 WHEREAS, During its first year, Goldfish Swim School has
2424 distinguished itself as a valuable resource to many area families,
2525 and all those involved with the school may take pride in knowing
2626 that they have made an important contribution to their community;
2727 now, therefore, be it
2828 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2929 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Goldfish Swim
3030 School on its one-year anniversary and extend to the facility's
3131 owners, staff, and students sincere best wishes for the future;
3232 and, be it further
3333 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3434 prepared for Goldfish Swim School as an expression of high regard by
3535 the Texas House of Representatives.
