| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Los Fresnos Cowboy Cook-Off, which is taking place |

| 4 | 4 | | September 24 and 25, 2021; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The idea of an annual cook-off was introduced in |

| 6 | 6 | | 2017 by members of the Los Fresnos Rodeo Committee; their goal |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | was to bring more family-friendly events to the Lower Cameron |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | County community; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the Los Fresnos Cowboy Cook-Off features talented chefs and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | cooking teams from all over the state competing against one |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | another to produce the tastiest of traditional Texas barbecue |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fare; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The two-day cook-off is accompanied by a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | competitive classic car show, a local artisan market, and an |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | array of entertainment options for guests of all ages; proceeds |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | from the cook-off provide scholarships for local youth; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Los Fresnos Cowboy Cook-Off is sure to provide spirited |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | competition and first-rate cuisine that will satisfy the most |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | discriminating of palates; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the sponsors of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the Los Fresnos Cowboy Cook-Off and its participants and extend |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to all best wishes for a successful event; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |

| 27 | 27 | | honor of all associated with this year's cook-off. |
