| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Eduardo Infante, who is retiring as superintendent of |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | the Lyford Consolidated Independent School District after a |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | distinguished 38-year career in the field of education; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Eduardo Infante grew up in Lyford, where he |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | absorbed the Rio Grande Valley bedrock values of education, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | community, and faith; a 1976 graduate of Lyford High School, he |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | earned bachelor's and master's degrees from The University of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Texas--Pan American; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Eduardo served for eight years as a classroom |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | teacher before entering the field of school administration, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | he has served as superintendent of the Lyford Consolidated |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Independent School District for the past 13 years; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Under his outstanding leadership, the district |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | received "Recognized" status for the first time, and it was one |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of the first small, rural districts in the state to initiate a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | district-wide, one-to-one instructional technology program |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | using iPads; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, He has been active in a number of professional |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | organizations, including the Texas Association of School |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Administrators; in 2011, he was named the Region I Superintendent |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of the Year; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary educator, he is respected and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | admired by his colleagues in education and the Lyford community, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and his presence as superintendent of the Lyford Consolidated |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Independent School District will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Eduardo Infante |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | on his long and distinguished career in education and extend to |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | be it further |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
