55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
66 commemorates the life of Laurinda Denise Robinson-Harris, who
77 died July 11, 2021, at the age of 64; and
88 WHEREAS, Laurinda Robinson-Harris was born on March 24,
99 1957, in Austin, to Ben Arthur Robinson Sr. and Lillie Laura
1010 Humphreys-Robinson; she graduated from Austin High School in
1111 1975, and she attended Southwest Texas State University before
1212 earning a degree in marketing from Saint Edward's University; and
1313 WHEREAS, She enjoyed a productive career as a buyer for 3M
1414 Corporation, Dell Computers, and the City of Austin; her
1515 community activities included membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha
1616 Sorority, Incorporated, and in the Town Lake Chapter of The
1717 Links, Incorporated; and
1818 WHEREAS, She and her beloved husband of 39 years,
1919 Dr. Bergeron Harris, were blessed with two sons, Chandler and
2020 Cameron; her grandson, Kellan, was a source of much pride and joy
2121 for her; and
2222 WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced her faith in her
2323 daily life, she was a longtime member of Simpson United Methodist
2424 Church in Austin; and
2525 WHEREAS, Laurinda was a woman of grace and style and was
2626 known for her joyful personality, her radiant smile, her caring
2727 spirit, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest;
2828 and
2929 WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
3030 and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
3131 her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
3232 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
3333 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
3434 condolences to the bereaved family of Laurinda Denise
3535 Robinson-Harris; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3737 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3838 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3939 memory of Laurinda Robinson-Harris.
