| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Hal Holeva has greatly benefited the Arts |

| 3 | 3 | | Council of Midland over the course of nearly two decades as |

| 4 | 4 | | executive director; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Appointed in January 2002, Danny Holeva has |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | skillfully guided the annual Celebration of the Arts Festival |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | throughout his tenure; the weekend event has grown to feature |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | more than 60 local, state, and national artists, as well as live |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | performances, interactive crafts, and food trucks; in 2021, it |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | attracted some 6,000 visitors; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Holeva organizes the Quarterly Exhibitions |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | series and the Artist Community Market; in addition, he oversees |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the City of Midland's arts-related subgrant program, ArtSmart, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and the FMH Foundation Sculpture Garden; he also serves on the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | board of Texans for the Arts and on the community advisory board |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of Basin PBS; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A Midland native, Mr. Holeva graduated from The |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | University of Texas Permian Basin and went on to earn his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | master's degree in fine arts from Texas Tech University; he is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | supported in all his endeavors by the love and encouragement of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | his wife, Carla Holeva, and he is the proud father of a daughter, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Emily; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Danny Holeva has made outstanding contributions |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | to Midland's cultural scene through his dedicated leadership, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and as he marks a significant milestone in his career, it is |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | indeed a pleasure to recognize his achievements; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Daniel Hal Holeva |

| 30 | 30 | | for his many years of service as executive director of the Arts |

| 31 | 31 | | Council of Midland and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
