| 4 | 4 | | won the 2021 Junior College World Series national championship; |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Highlanders won the school's second national |

| 7 | 7 | | championship in baseball by defeating defending national |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | champion Central Arizona College by a score of 7-3 to complete an |

| 9 | 9 | | unbeaten run through the Junior College World Series; McLennan |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Community College last appeared in the Junior College World |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Series in 2015 and won its previous national title in 1983; and |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, These student athletes have demonstrated great |

| 13 | 13 | | talent and perseverance over the course of the year and finished |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the season with a record of 47-16; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Under the outstanding leadership of head coach |

| 16 | 16 | | Mitch Thompson and his staff, the Highlanders have developed |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | exceptional teamwork and discipline; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Winning a national championship is a daunting |

| 19 | 19 | | task that requires countless hours of hard work and an unwavering |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | commitment to excellence, and the members of the McLennan |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Community College baseball team can take great pride in their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | outstanding performance; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the McLennan |

| 25 | 25 | | Community College baseball team on its successful season and |

| 26 | 26 | | extend congratulations to its players, coaches, and staff on |
