| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 15.081(a), Election Code, is amended to | |
| 10 | 10 | read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (a) The registrar shall maintain a suspense list containing | |
| 12 | 12 | the name of each voter: | |
| 13 | 13 | (1) who fails to submit a response to the registrar in | |
| 14 | 14 | accordance with Section 15.053; | |
| 15 | 15 | (2) whose renewal certificate is returned to the | |
| 16 | 16 | registrar in accordance with Subchapter B, Chapter 14; [or] | |
| 17 | 17 | (3) who appears on the list of nonresidents of the | |
| 18 | 18 | county provided to the registrar under Section 62.114, Government | |
| 19 | 19 | Code; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (4) who has not voted in any election in this state | |
| 21 | 21 | conducted in the preceding four years. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | |
| 23 | 23 | last day of the legislative session. |
