R E S O L U T I O N
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 87th
Texas Legislature, That Rule 4, Section 2(a)(7), of the permanent
rules of the House of Representatives of the 87th Legislature is
amended to read as follows:
(7) The speaker shall designate the chair and
vice-chair from the total membership of the committee. If, at the
time the speaker announces the membership of committees, the
members of one political party constitute a majority of the
membership of the house, the speaker shall designate a member of
that party to serve as chair of each committee.
