H.R. No. 147
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A caring and generous life drew to a close with the
passing of Magdalena Sanchez Zapata on January 15, 2021, at the age
of 56; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Damacio and Maria Elena Garza
Sanchez, the former Maggie Sanchez was born on March 9, 1964, in
Robstown, and grew up with five siblings, Esmeralda, Julian,
Alfredo, Edward, and Guadalupe; a pharmacy technician, she enjoyed
a successful career with CVS; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Zapata shared a rewarding marriage with her
husband of 37 years, Guillermo, and she took great pride in her
children, William, Jennifer, and Kimberly; and
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her family, her friends, and her
faith, Maggie Zapata touched countless lives with her warmth and
kindness, and she will forever be a source of inspiration to those
she leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
of Magdalena Sanchez Zapata and extend sincere condolences to all
who mourn her passing; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Maggie
Zapata.
