| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, El Paso City Council member Cecilia Lizarraga has |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This devoted public official has worked tirelessly |

| 9 | 10 | | to safeguard the health of area residents while ensuring that they |

| 10 | 11 | | continue to receive essential public services; although the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | pandemic has placed immense burdens on the local community, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Ms. Lizarraga has risen to this unprecedented challenge, and her |

| 13 | 14 | | efforts have been instrumental in helping El Paso navigate the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | crisis; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Lizarraga has represented District 8 on the city |

| 16 | 17 | | council since assuming office on July 25, 2017; a retired educator, |

| 17 | 18 | | she previously worked for the El Paso Independent School District; |

| 18 | 19 | | she holds a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at |

| 19 | 20 | | El Paso and a master's degree from The University of Texas at |
|---|

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Cecilia Lizarraga's decisive leadership has greatly |

| 23 | 24 | | and uncertainty, and she is truly deserving of special recognition |
