| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Anthony Standley of Oyster Creek on August 26, 2021, at |

| 7 | 8 | | the age of 56; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Sidney and Barbara Means, Tony Standley |

| 9 | 10 | | was born on January 26, 1965, and he grew up with the companionship |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | of three siblings, Paula, Cynthia, and Lynn; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Standley enjoyed a rewarding career in law |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | enforcement that spanned nearly three decades; he worked for the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | police departments in Brazoria, Freeport, and Clute before joining |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | the Oyster Creek Police Department; in April 2021, he was promoted |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | to detective, and over the years, he also served as a supervisor and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | field training officer; along the way, he earned the deep respect |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and admiration of his colleagues, and he was honored with a Life |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Saving Award as well as a 100 Club Officer of the Year award; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Blessed with a devoted family, Mr. Standley took |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | great pride in his daughters, Kristin and Shelby, and his |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | grandchildren, Odin, Matilda, Lily, and Lucy; in his leisure time, |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | he enjoyed fishing, painting, and drawing; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, Tony Standley made a |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | meaningful difference in the lives of his loved ones and fellow |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | citizens alike, and he will forever be remembered for his |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | compassionate nature, his delightful sense of humor, and his |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | unwavering commitment to serving his community; now, therefore, be |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
