| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Members of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in |

| 6 | 7 | | Dallas are gathering on September 12, 2021, to honor their senior |

| 7 | 8 | | pastor, the Reverend Albert Kinder Haynes Sr., for his half century |

| 8 | 9 | | of devoted service in the ministry; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Haynes answered the call to preach the gospel |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | at the age of 21; his distinguished ministerial career has included |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | a tenure as senior pastor at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Cheek, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and he went on to serve as pastor of the Fellowship Missionary |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Baptist Church in Beaumont for more than 16 years before becoming |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | senior pastor at Bethany MBC; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This dynamic leader has worked to expand and improve |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | the Bethany ministries and has implemented a range of other |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | initiatives to benefit the congregation; his achievements include |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | organizing training workshops for church leaders and establishing |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | the K-12 tutorial program, which offers remedial education |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | assistance to students; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Reverend Haynes has participated in numerous civic |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | organizations in the communities where he has worked; he has led the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | North Park Ministers' Coalition as president and is a founding |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | member and former president of the board of directors for the North |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Park Community Development Corporation; moreover, he served as |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | chair of the City of Beaumont Affirmative Action Committee and as |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | president of the NAACP Beaumont branch; a graduate of Lamar |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering, he |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | also completed postgraduate studies at the University of Houston |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | and the Southwestern Baptist Seminary Extension in Beaumont; and |

| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Albert Haynes is a source of wisdom and |

| 32 | 33 | | inspiration to all who are privileged to know him, and it is a |

| 33 | 34 | | pleasure to join in honoring him on this special occasion; now, |
