5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long treasure their memories |

6 | 7 | | of William Walter Davis Jr. of Houston, who passed away on July 16, |

7 | 8 | | 2021, at the age of 67; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, William Davis was born in Houston on March 4, 1954, |

9 | 10 | | to William Walter Davis Sr. and Hannah Lola Davis, and he grew up in |

10 | 11 | | the Pleasantville community with three sisters, Laura, Deborah, and |
---|
11 | 12 | | Rolanda; in 1976, he was joined in matrimony to the former Billie |
---|
12 | 13 | | Jean Carter, and the couple went on to share a rewarding union that |
---|
13 | 14 | | spanned 45 years; he was the proud father of three daughters, |
---|
14 | 15 | | Kimberly, Elicia, and Carlinda, and later in life, he was blessed |
---|
15 | 16 | | with three grandchildren, Karsyn, Karter, and the late Kaelynn |

16 | 17 | | Davis-Hamilton; and |

17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, After receiving his early education in the Houston |

18 | 19 | | Independent School District, Mr. Davis attended G. T. Dental |

19 | 20 | | School; over the course of his career, he worked in dentistry as |

20 | 21 | | well as trucking, driving vehicles for Adams Trucking, Star |

21 | 22 | | Furniture, and Nabisco Foods; he was also active in his community as |

22 | 23 | | an election worker; and |

23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A serious horseman, Mr. Davis delighted in the time |

24 | 25 | | he spent with his horse, Chloe, and he was a regular volunteer with |

25 | 26 | | the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where he served on the Rodeo |

26 | 27 | | Transportation Committee; and |

27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Known affectionately as "Willie D," William Davis |

28 | 29 | | was an outgoing and high-spirited man who brightened the lives of |

29 | 30 | | his family and friends, and all those who knew and loved him will |

30 | 31 | | forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
