| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Michael Shane Capps of |

| 6 | 7 | | Carthage were deeply saddened by his passing on August 20, 2021, at |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Michael and Phyllis Capps, Shane Capps |

| 9 | 10 | | was born in Longview on February 12, 1977, and he grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | companionship of a sister, Misty; after graduating from Carthage |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | High School in 1995, he attended Eastfield College on a baseball |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | scholarship; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Capps enjoyed a rewarding career in the oil and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | gas industry and was employed with Bagley Well Service; in his |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | leisure time, he coached area youth, and he was an enthusiastic |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | supporter of local sports teams; he was also an avid outdoorsman, |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and he delighted in fishing, hunting, and grilling; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Capps benefited from the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | love and support of his wife, Crystal, with whom he shared a |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | fulfilling marriage of 23 years, and he took great pride in their |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | two children, Gunner and Alli; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Possessed of a warm and friendly nature and a keen |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | sense of humor, Shane Capps brightened the world for all who knew |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
