45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Residents are gathering together on September 6,
67 2021, for the 75th annual Garland Labor Day Parade; and
78 WHEREAS, Hosted by the Noon Exchange Club of Garland, the
89 parade winds along the city's downtown streets and features bands,
910 cheerleaders, and drill teams from the Garland Independent School
1011 District as well as many other community groups; thought to be the
1112 largest Labor Day parade west of the Mississippi, the event
1213 provides family-friendly entertainment for all ages, with food
1314 vendors, booths, and such activities as face painting; and
1415 WHEREAS, Among its many service initiatives, the Noon
1516 Exchange Club offers assistance to numerous organizations and
1617 individuals through a wide range of programs, including public
1718 awareness campaigns that promote the prevention of child abuse;
1819 additionally, the club provides scholarships and mentoring for
1920 local youth; and
2021 WHEREAS, Members of the Noon Exchange Club of Garland have
2122 long contributed to the betterment of Garland, and their
2223 sponsorship of this popular event is further testament to their
2324 steadfast commitment to their community; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2526 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2021
2627 Garland Labor Day Parade and extend to all those in attendance
2728 sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable event; and, be it
2829 further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for the Noon Exchange Club as an expression of high regard
3132 by the Texas House of Representatives.
