| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas |

| 6 | 7 | | have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and |

| 7 | 8 | | workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives |

| 8 | 9 | | in the pandemic was Tracey Adams, a dedicated and well-respected |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | employee of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, who passed |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | away on March 6, 2021, at the age of 45; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Adams completed her training at the TDCJ academy |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and served for two months as a correctional officer cadet at the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Stiles Unit in Beaumont; her enthusiasm and determination to excel |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | earned her the respect and appreciation of her colleagues; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Devoted to her family, Ms. Adams grew up with five |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | siblings, and she became the proud mother of three children; she |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, especially watching the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Dallas Cowboys; in all her endeavors, she demonstrated kindness and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | consideration toward others, and she set an inspiring example |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | through her strong work ethic; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Tracey Adams faithfully and ably performed her |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | duties throughout her tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Justice, and she will long be remembered with great admiration by |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | all who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |

| 27 | 28 | | Tracey Adams and extend deepest sympathy to her family, friends, |

| 28 | 29 | | and colleagues; and, be it further |
