45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas
67 have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and
78 workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives
89 in the pandemic was Sara Margaret Keenom, a dedicated and
910 well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal
1011 Justice, who passed away on March 29, 2021, at the age of 44; and
1112 WHEREAS, Born on December 7, 1976, in Freeport, Sara Keenom
1213 was a woman of deep faith who was passionate about helping others;
1314 she shared a rewarding marriage with her husband of more than 20
1415 years, Daniel Keenom, and she was a devoted mother to their son,
1516 Austyn; and
1617 WHEREAS, Ms. Keenom began her career with TDCJ in January
1718 2018 at the Stringfellow Unit in Rosharon, and she was subsequently
1819 promoted to administrative assistant in the count room at the
1920 Terrell Unit; she was known for her strong work ethic, her friendly
2021 demeanor, and her willingness to ensure the success of her
2122 colleagues; and
2223 WHEREAS, Sara Keenom faithfully and ably performed her duties
2324 throughout her tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal
2425 Justice, and she will long be remembered with great admiration by
2526 all who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2728 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
2829 Sara Margaret Keenom and extend deepest sympathy to her family,
2930 friends, and colleagues; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3233 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sara
3334 Keenom.
