| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas |

| 6 | 7 | | have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and |

| 7 | 8 | | workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives |

| 8 | 9 | | in the pandemic was Sara Margaret Keenom, a dedicated and |

| 9 | 10 | | well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal |

| 10 | 11 | | Justice, who passed away on March 29, 2021, at the age of 44; and |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Born on December 7, 1976, in Freeport, Sara Keenom |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | was a woman of deep faith who was passionate about helping others; |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | she shared a rewarding marriage with her husband of more than 20 |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | years, Daniel Keenom, and she was a devoted mother to their son, |

| 15 | 16 | | Austyn; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Keenom began her career with TDCJ in January |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | 2018 at the Stringfellow Unit in Rosharon, and she was subsequently |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | promoted to administrative assistant in the count room at the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Terrell Unit; she was known for her strong work ethic, her friendly |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | demeanor, and her willingness to ensure the success of her |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | colleagues; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Sara Keenom faithfully and ably performed her duties |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | throughout her tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Justice, and she will long be remembered with great admiration by |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | all who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |

| 28 | 29 | | Sara Margaret Keenom and extend deepest sympathy to her family, |

| 29 | 30 | | friends, and colleagues; and, be it further |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
