| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas |

| 6 | 7 | | have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and |

| 7 | 8 | | workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives |

| 8 | 9 | | in the pandemic was Clemente Rocha III, a dedicated and |

| 9 | 10 | | well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal |

| 10 | 11 | | Justice, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 54; and |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rocha enjoyed a rewarding career with the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Windham School District that spanned 25 years; he served as a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | vocational teacher at the Fabian Dale Dominguez State Jail, where |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | he taught classes in computer aided drafting; in his leisure time, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | he delighted in playing golf, listening to music, barbecuing, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | building model planes; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Sustained by a deep faith, Mr. Rocha considered his |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | wife, Yvette, and his daughters, Cassandra and Crystal, to be his |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | greatest blessings; among his many achievements, he received the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | 2008-2009 Lane Murray Excellence in Teaching Award from the Windham |

| 21 | 22 | | School District in recognition of his steadfast commitment to his |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | students and to the highest standards of his profession; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Clemente Rocha faithfully and ably performed his |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | duties throughout his tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Justice, and he will long be remembered with great admiration by all |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |

| 29 | 30 | | Clemente Rocha III and extend deepest sympathy to his family, |

| 30 | 31 | | friends, and colleagues; and, be it further |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
