| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Married for 52 years, Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez were |

| 10 | 11 | | blessed with five children, Abel, Ana Maria, Humberto, Enrique, and |

| 11 | 12 | | Melly; through the years, their treasured family grew to include |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A Rio Grande City native, Mr. Gonzalez was born on |

| 14 | 15 | | December 20, 1923; he served his country in the United States |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | military and received a Purple Heart for valor; on May 25, 2002, he |

| 16 | 17 | | passed away at the age of 78; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Gonzalez was born in La Grulla on July 24, |

| 18 | 19 | | 1927; a woman of deep faith, she was active in the Catholic |

| 19 | 20 | | Daughters of the Americas, the Serra Club, the Sacred Heart |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Organization, Vela Perpetua, the Catholic Mothers Club, and Woodmen |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | of the World; in addition, she played a key role in the founding of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Sacred Heart Mission in Los Garcias; she passed away on January 21, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | 2013, at the age of 85; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Abel N. Gonzalez Sr. and Maria Elia Solis Gonzalez |

| 25 | 26 | | set an inspiring example through their great devotion to each other |

| 26 | 27 | | and to their family, and they will forever hold a special place in |

| 27 | 28 | | the hearts of all those who knew and loved them; now, therefore, be |
