5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Elva Yolanda Morado is retiring from the Texas A&M |

6 | 7 | | AgriLife Extension Service on August 31, 2021, drawing to a close an |

7 | 8 | | exemplary career with the agency that has spanned more than four and |

8 | 9 | | a half decades; and |
---|
9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Morado first joined Texas A&M AgriLife |
---|
10 | 11 | | Extension in 1974, and she served as a Family and Consumer Sciences |
---|
11 | 12 | | program leader at offices in Duval, Jim Hogg, Zapata, and McMullen |
---|
12 | 13 | | Counties; during that time, she also held the role of county |
---|
13 | 14 | | extension agent at-large in McMullen County; in 1976, she |
---|
14 | 15 | | transferred to the Starr County office, where she currently works |
---|
15 | 16 | | as an FCS program leader, county administrator, and county |
---|
16 | 17 | | extension agent; and |
---|
17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure with the agency, |
---|
18 | 19 | | Ms. Morado has been active with numerous groups and committees at |
---|
19 | 20 | | the district, state, and national levels; her contributions have |
---|
20 | 21 | | included chairing the South Texas Regional Cholera Task Force, |
---|
21 | 22 | | participating in the Governor's Conference on Volunteerism, and |
---|
22 | 23 | | serving on the National 4-H Council Hispanic Advisory Committee; |
---|
23 | 24 | | she has further distinguished herself through her involvement in |
---|
24 | 25 | | multiple grant writing and review teams, as well as a number of |
---|
25 | 26 | | professional and civic organizations; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Among her many accolades, Ms. Morado has received a |
---|
27 | 28 | | State Distinguished Achievement Award from the Texas Extension |
---|
28 | 29 | | Specialists Association, a Humanitarian Award from the McAllen |
---|
29 | 30 | | Rotary Club, and a 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award; in addition, |
---|
30 | 31 | | she was named a Texas A&M University System Regents Fellow in 2009; |
---|
31 | 32 | | she holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&I University in |
---|
32 | 33 | | Kingsville; and |
---|
33 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication, expertise, and commitment |
---|
34 | 35 | | to excellence, Elva Morado has greatly benefited her fellow Texans |
---|
35 | 36 | | and earned the lasting respect and admiration of her colleagues, |
---|
36 | 37 | | and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she |

37 | 38 | | embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be |
