7 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
8 | 8 | SECTION 1. Section 13.046(h), Election Code, is amended to | |
9 | 9 | read as follows: | |
10 | 10 | (h) The secretary of state shall: | |
11 | 11 | (1) consult with the Texas Education Agency regarding | |
12 | 12 | the number of registration application forms to provide to each | |
13 | 13 | high school; | |
14 | 14 | (2) provide to each high school registration | |
15 | 15 | application forms once each fall and spring semester in the number | |
16 | 16 | determined from the consultation under Subdivision (1); and | |
17 | 17 | (3) prescribe any additional procedures necessary to | |
18 | 18 | implement this section. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2021-2022 | |
20 | 20 | school year. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
25 | 25 | Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | |
26 | 26 | legislative session. |
