12 | 8 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

13 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 10, Article III, Texas Constitution, is |

14 | 10 | | amended to read as follows: |

15 | 11 | | Sec. 10. A majority [Two-thirds] of the members of each |
---|
16 | 12 | | House of the Legislature shall constitute a quorum to do business, |
---|
17 | 13 | | but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and compel the |
---|
18 | 14 | | attendance of absent members, in such manner and under such |
---|
19 | 15 | | penalties as each House may provide. |

20 | 16 | | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |

21 | 17 | | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2022. |

22 | 18 | | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |

23 | 19 | | proposition: "The constitutional amendment to provide that a |
---|
24 | 20 | | majority of the members of the senate or house of representatives of |
---|
25 | 21 | | the Texas Legislature constitutes a quorum for that house to do |

26 | 22 | | business." |
