106 proposing a constitutional amendment relating to the determination
117 of a quorum of the senate or house of representatives.
128 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
139 SECTION 1. Section 10, Article III, Texas Constitution, is
1410 amended to read as follows:
1511 Sec. 10. A majority [Two-thirds] of the members of each
1612 House of the Legislature shall constitute a quorum to do business,
1713 but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and compel the
1814 attendance of absent members, in such manner and under such
1915 penalties as each House may provide.
2016 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2117 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2022.
2218 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2319 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to provide that a
2420 majority of the members of the senate or house of representatives of
2521 the Texas Legislature constitutes a quorum for that house to do
2622 business."
