2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize Missy Pillsbury, who has been named the 2021 General
4	8		Aviation Airport Manager of the Year by the Texas Department of
5	9		Transportation Aviation Division; and
6	10		WHEREAS, A highly esteemed aviation manager, Missy
7	11		Pillsbury oversees operations of the Orange County Airport in
8	12		Orange, Texas; during her outstanding tenure as manager, she has
9	13		transformed the small airport into a respected aviation hub; and
10	14		WHEREAS, Missy has initiated and overseen a series of
11	15		renovations to modernize the small-town airport and to ensure
12	16		aircraft safety during hurricane season and during other extreme
13	17		weather conditions; the airport served as a local resource site
14	18		in the aftermath of Hurricanes Laura and Delta and has been used
15	19		as an emergency relief hub by the Federal Emergency Management
16	20		Agency; and
17	21		WHEREAS, Missy has led the airport through a phase of
18	22		notable transformation and growth while ensuring the highest
19	23		level of customer service; she is known for personally contacting
20	24		clients and aircraft owners to keep them informed of important
21	25		weather events and site updates; and
22	26		WHEREAS, A respected leader in her field, Missy Pillsbury
23	27		works daily to ensure the ongoing success of the Orange County
24	28		Airport, and she is indeed deserving of recognition for her many
25	29		accomplishments and her commitment to professional excellence;
26	30		now, therefore, be it
27	31		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
28	32		Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations
29	33		to Missy Pillsbury on her selection as the 2021 General Aviation
30	34		Airport Manager of the Year; and, be it further
31	35		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
32	36		her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
