5+ SENATE RESOLUTION
56 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
67 commemorates the life of Willie Lonnell Galloway, a cherished
78 citizen who recently passed away after a long and trailblazing
89 life of service to his community; and
910 WHEREAS, Willie Galloway was born in Newton County on
1011 April 5, 1947, and he moved with his family to Dallas while still
1112 a toddler; he graduated from Hamilton Park High School in 1965;
1213 and
1314 WHEREAS, Willie attended Henderson Junior College, North
1415 Texas State University, and East Texas State University, and he
1516 excelled as a collegiate basketball player; in 1968, he joined
1617 the United States Air Force, and he served with distinction as an
1718 aircraft radar operations technician and earned the rank of E-4
1819 Sergeant; and
1920 WHEREAS, After his military service, he began working as a
2021 mail clerk for the United States Postal Service, and in 1973, he
2122 was recruited as one of the first black firefighters hired by the
2223 Dallas Fire Department; he earned numerous distinctions during
2324 seven years of service at Station 15, and he went on to become one
2425 of the first black inspectors hired in the Dallas Fire Inspection
2526 Division; he retired from public service in 1992, and he enjoyed
2627 17 years of success as the founder and owner of CleanTex
2728 Janitorial Services; and
28- WHEREAS, Mr. Galloway married Lisa Frazier-Galloway in 2007,
29- and together they established and operated CleanTex Green

3031 Services; he was the proud father of three daughters and was
31- blessed with grandchildren, stepchildren, and stepgrandchildren;
32- he served as an usher at Concord Church, his spiritual home for many

3435 WHEREAS, Willie Galloway enjoyed traveling, spending time

3839 therefore, be it
3940 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
4041 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
4142 condolences to the bereaved family of Willie Lonnell Galloway;
4243 and, be it further
4344 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
4445 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
4546 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
4647 memory of Willie Galloway.
