5	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	7		commemorates the life of Willie Lonnell Galloway, a cherished
7	8		citizen who recently passed away after a long and trailblazing
8	9		life of service to his community; and
9	10		WHEREAS, Willie Galloway was born in Newton County on
10	11		April 5, 1947, and he moved with his family to Dallas while still
11	12		a toddler; he graduated from Hamilton Park High School in 1965;
12	13		and
13	14		WHEREAS, Willie attended Henderson Junior College, North
14	15		Texas State University, and East Texas State University, and he
15	16		excelled as a collegiate basketball player; in 1968, he joined
16	17		the United States Air Force, and he served with distinction as an
17	18		aircraft radar operations technician and earned the rank of E-4
18	19		Sergeant; and
19	20		WHEREAS, After his military service, he began working as a
20	21		mail clerk for the United States Postal Service, and in 1973, he
21	22		was recruited as one of the first black firefighters hired by the
22	23		Dallas Fire Department; he earned numerous distinctions during
23	24		seven years of service at Station 15, and he went on to become one
24	25		of the first black inspectors hired in the Dallas Fire Inspection
25	26		Division; he retired from public service in 1992, and he enjoyed
26	27		17 years of success as the founder and owner of CleanTex
27	28		Janitorial Services; and
28		-	WHEREAS, Mr. Galloway married Lisa Frazier-Galloway in ~~2007,~~
29		-	and together they established and operated CleanTex Green

37	38		cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
38	39		therefore, be it
39	40		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
40	41		Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
41	42		condolences to the bereaved family of Willie Lonnell Galloway;
42	43		and, be it further
43	44		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
44	45		his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
45	46		Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
46	47		memory of Willie Galloway.
