| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Acosta is concluding her distinguished |

| 3 | 3 | | tenure as a staff member in the office of State Senator Judith |

| 4 | 4 | | Zaffirini on August 31, 2021, closing out 21 years of dedicated |

| 5 | 5 | | service with the Texas Legislature; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Del Valle High School in Austin, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Ms. Acosta also studied at Capitol City Careers; after beginning |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | her career as a court reporter for Sharon Sullivan Reporting in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1991, she was hired as a secretary for the National Junior |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | College Athletic Association in Colorado Springs, Colorado; in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1994, she returned to Texas to become the executive assistant and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | interim committee clerk for State Senator Carlos Truan, and she |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | subsequently joined the Capitol office of Senator Zaffirini, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | where she has served as office manager and administrative |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | assistant; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has earned the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | admiration of legislators and colleagues alike for her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | relationship-building skills and her cheerful demeanor; she has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | played an integral role in facilitating communication between |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Senator Zaffirini and other legislators, as well as |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | constituents, guests, and senate departments; her many |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | contributions include supervising projects, prioritizing |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | incoming correspondence, assigning casework to staff, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | coordinating appointments, and communicating administrative |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | policies and procedures; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Acosta's friendliness and natural ability |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | to work effectively with diverse groups have enabled her to excel |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | in her career, and she will be remembered fondly as a valued |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | member of Senator Zaffirini's staff; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Sarah Acosta for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | her exceptional service as a staff member in the office of State |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Senator Judith Zaffirini and extend to her sincere best wishes |

| 34 | 34 | | for success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further |
