| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Joseph L. Trahan, executive chairman and founder of |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | BIZPAC.us, for his service on behalf of Texas citizens and his |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | many contributions to the state; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Trahan established BIZPAC.us, an association |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of business owners, to bring together people who could work with |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | state government to the benefit of Texas and its citizens; the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | members are captains of industry and leaders in a wide variety of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | fields; members include patent holders, innovators, experts in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | science and engineering, and physicians; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The members of this respected organization have |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | guided groundbreaking advancements in medical and technological |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | research; they serve as advisors to legislators and state agency |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | leaders during legislative sessions, and they have provided |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | information that has been valuable to the development of policies |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in such areas as public health, public safety, and education; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | BIZPAC.us members make a difference in local communities by |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | organizing citizens and encouraging them to become active on |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | their school boards and to participate in local government; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Trahan began fostering the talents of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | next generation of leaders by establishing a Young Professionals |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Association within his organization; the educational program |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | connects young and emerging professionals with industry leaders |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and seasoned business veterans who provide mentorship in |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | governance, citizen activism, and civic responsibility; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Members of BIZPAC.us give generously of their |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | time and resources to assist wounded veterans and to award |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | scholarships to high school graduates, and many of them serve as |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | civic leaders; Mr. Trahan can reflect with pride on the success |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of his organization and its many contributions to the communities |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | of Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Joseph L. Trahan |

| 35 | 35 | | on his dedication and outstanding service to the Lone Star State |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | and its citizens and extend to him best wishes for the future; |
