| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 2210, Insurance Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | amended by adding Section 2210.063 to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 2210.063. LOCATION OF ASSOCIATION HEADQUARTERS. The | |
| 12 | 12 | headquarters of the association must be located in a first tier | |
| 13 | 13 | coastal county or second tier coastal county. | |
| 14 | 14 | SECTION 2. Section 2210.063, Insurance Code, as added by | |
| 15 | 15 | this Act, applies to the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association | |
| 16 | 16 | beginning on January 1, 2023. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | |
| 22 | 22 | legislative session. |
