| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Arlington Police Department pays tribute to its |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First dedicated on May 17, 2008, Heroes Park is |

| 9 | 10 | | situated near the APD's West Station and the city's Fire Training |

| 10 | 11 | | Center, and it features a tree-lined walkway, a fountain and |

| 11 | 12 | | memorial pool, and the Wall of Honor, which bears the names of those |

| 12 | 13 | | officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Since 1930, eight police officers have made the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | ultimate sacrifice while serving the city; these include James E. |

| 15 | 16 | | Johnson, Gary D. Harl, Terry Lynn Lewis, Jerry J. Crocker, Craig |

| 16 | 17 | | Michael Hanking, Joseph Thomas Cushman, Craig Gordon Story, and |

| 17 | 18 | | Jillian Michelle Smith; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Texans owe an immense debt of gratitude to the men |

| 19 | 20 | | and women of law enforcement who willingly place themselves in |

| 20 | 21 | | harm's way to protect and serve the public, and the Arlington Police |

| 21 | 22 | | Department's annual tribute to its fallen heroes is a fitting |

| 22 | 23 | | remembrance of their sacrifice and devotion to duty; now, |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | extend to the members of the department sincere best wishes for a |
