| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First held in 2015, the Back to School Kickoff draws |

| 9 | 10 | | thousands of Arlington ISD students, who are given free backpacks |

| 10 | 11 | | and school supplies; attendees also have the opportunity to sign up |

| 11 | 12 | | for immunizations, vision checks, dental screenings, and haircuts; |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The Back to School Kickoff receives support from |

| 14 | 15 | | hundreds of community volunteers and a multitude of Arlington |

| 15 | 16 | | organizations; among the annual sponsors are the Gene and Jerry |

| 16 | 17 | | Jones Family Foundation, which through the years has provided the |

| 17 | 18 | | event with funding, school supplies, and the use of the AT&T Stadium |

| 18 | 19 | | as a venue; the organization, founded by the family of Dallas |

| 19 | 20 | | Cowboys owner and president, Jerry Jones, donates millions of |

| 20 | 21 | | dollars to benefit youth programs, women's health, and military and |

| 21 | 22 | | Hispanic outreach initiatives; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, One of the largest school districts in the state, |

| 23 | 24 | | Arlington ISD serves approximately 60,000 young Texans; the |

| 24 | 25 | | district offers a well-rounded curriculum that includes a gifted |

| 25 | 26 | | and talented program for elementary and secondary students, an |

| 26 | 27 | | award-winning special education program, and a nationally |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | recognized fine arts program; and |

| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, The Arlington ISD Back to School Kickoff is a |

| 29 | 30 | | much-anticipated celebration of a new school year, and all those |

| 30 | 31 | | who help make this worthwhile endeavor possible are indeed |

| 31 | 32 | | deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 33 | 34 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the Arlington |
