| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jenah Latch of Spurger has attained the Girl Scout |

| 6 | 7 | | Silver Award, and this accomplishment truly merits recognition; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Latch successfully |

| 8 | 9 | | met a series of requirements emphasizing community service and |

| 9 | 10 | | leadership skills; as part of that process, she planned and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | implemented a Girl Scout Silver Award project that involved making |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | kits filled with comfort items for individuals diagnosed with |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | breast cancer, and she donated the care packages to Texas Oncology |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | in Beaumont; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A freshman at Spurger High School, Ms. Latch |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | previously earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award for making teaching |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | aids for special needs classrooms to help with sensory and motor |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | skills; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | young women to explore career opportunities and to become more |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | citizens and leaders; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Latch has |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect with pride on |

| 26 | 27 | | a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jenah Latch on |
