45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Jenah Latch of Spurger has attained the Girl Scout
67 Silver Award, and this accomplishment truly merits recognition; and
78 WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Latch successfully
89 met a series of requirements emphasizing community service and
910 leadership skills; as part of that process, she planned and
1011 implemented a Girl Scout Silver Award project that involved making
1112 kits filled with comfort items for individuals diagnosed with
1213 breast cancer, and she donated the care packages to Texas Oncology
1314 in Beaumont; and
1415 WHEREAS, A freshman at Spurger High School, Ms. Latch
1516 previously earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award for making teaching
1617 aids for special needs classrooms to help with sensory and motor
1718 skills; and
1819 WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging
1920 young women to explore career opportunities and to become more
2021 socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its
2122 participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged
2223 citizens and leaders; and
2324 WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Latch has
2425 demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
2526 ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect with pride on
2627 a job well done; now, therefore, be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2829 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jenah Latch on
2930 her receipt of the Girl Scout Silver Award and extend to her sincere
3031 best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Ms. Latch as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3334 House of Representatives.
