45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Mallory Fuller, a Fairfield native who was recently
67 crowned Miss Texas 2021, has distinguished herself as a young woman
78 of exceptional compassion and character; and
89 WHEREAS, Ms. Fuller began following in the footsteps of her
910 two older sisters, Morgan and Madison, when she made her pageant
1011 debut with the Miss Texas organization; she has been competing for
1112 Miss Texas Outstanding Teen and Miss Texas titles for a total of 17
1213 years, and on June 25, 2021, she took home her first state title
1314 when she was crowned Miss Texas; and
1415 WHEREAS, In her role as Miss Texas, Ms. Fuller will attend
1516 speaking engagements across the state to discuss important topics
1617 such as education, community service, and women's empowerment; her
1718 platform will also allow her the opportunity to share about the
1819 Texas Cares for Children program, and she has adopted suicide
1920 prevention as her personal advocacy initiative; in 2015, she
2021 testified to the Texas Senate in behalf of the Jason Flatt Act, a
2122 law that makes it mandatory for educators to receive annual suicide
2223 prevention training; in addition, she has founded a suicide
2324 prevention program called Mallory's Mission, and she is the author
2425 of a children's book, Henry's Happy Heart, which she created to help
2526 families start conversations about mental health; and
2627 WHEREAS, Ms. Fuller is a graduate of Texas A&M University,
2728 where she received her bachelor's degree in communication; she is
2829 currently working toward a master's degree in communication
2930 sciences and disorders at Baylor University, with plans to pursue a
3031 career in speech pathology; and
3132 WHEREAS, Mallory Fuller has proven herself to be a deserving
3233 recipient of the Miss Texas crown and an inspiring ambassador for
3334 the Lone Star State, and the hard work, determination, and
3435 perseverance that she has demonstrated in attaining this goal are
3536 certain to serve her well in her future endeavors; now, therefore,
3637 be it
3738 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3839 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Mallory
3940 Fuller on being named Miss Texas 2021 and extend to her sincere best
4041 wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
4142 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4243 prepared for Ms. Fuller as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4344 House of Representatives.
