| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Educators Rising is a student-led grassroots |

|---|
| 11 | 12 | | initiative is cultivating a new generation of diverse and highly |

| 12 | 13 | | motivated educators by guiding youth toward careers in teaching; in |

| 13 | 14 | | the Lone Star State, Educators Rising is affiliated with the Texas |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Association of Future Educators, a nonprofit created in 1984 that |

| 15 | 16 | | assists middle school and high school pupils in exploring the |

| 16 | 17 | | teaching profession; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Joining students from around the country at the |

| 18 | 19 | | national conference, Ava Jones placed first and third, |

| 19 | 20 | | respectively, in Ethical Dilemma and Children's Literature -- K-3; |

| 20 | 21 | | this gifted young Texan has benefited from the guidance of teacher |

| 21 | 22 | | leader/advisor Krista Scott; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ava Jones has demonstrated exemplary skill and |

| 23 | 24 | | discipline in preparing for a career in education and may look ahead |

| 24 | 25 | | to a future that is bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
