45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Alisha Spears of NYOS Charter School in Austin
67 earned great distinction by turning in an exceptional performance
78 at the Educators Rising 2021 National Conference; and
89 WHEREAS, Educators Rising is a student-led grassroots
910 movement with chapters in every state; by coordinating efforts with
1011 state departments of education and local organizations, the
1112 initiative is cultivating a new generation of diverse and highly
1213 motivated educators by guiding youth toward careers in teaching; in
1314 the Lone Star State, Educators Rising is affiliated with the Texas
1415 Association of Future Educators, a nonprofit created in 1984 that
1516 assists middle school and high school pupils in exploring the
1617 teaching profession; and
1718 WHEREAS, Joining students from around the country at the
1819 national conference, Alisha Spears placed first in Public Speaking;
1920 this gifted young Texan has benefited from the guidance of teacher
2021 leader/advisor Nekeida Pierce; and
2122 WHEREAS, Alisha Spears has demonstrated exemplary skill and
2223 discipline in preparing for a career in education and may look ahead
2324 to a future that is bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2526 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Alisha Spears
2627 on an outstanding performance at the Educators Rising 2021 National
2728 Conference and extend sincere best wishes to this dedicated student
2829 for continued success; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Alisha Spears as an expression of high regard by the
3132 Texas House of Representatives.
