 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The City of Fate has been named the recipient of a
 2021 Community Economic Development Award from the Southern
 Economic Development Council; and
 WHEREAS, Each year, the SEDC presents this accolade to a
 select number of cities and towns for innovation and excellence in
 economic development; Fate received top honors in the category for
 communities with populations from 5,001 to 15,000 and was nominated
 for the recognition after receiving a Community Economic
 Development Award from the Texas Economic Development Council in
 2020; and
 WHEREAS, Among the fastest-growing communities in the
 Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Fate earned the award for its
 mixed-use development project, The Villages at Fate, which
 encompasses 18 apartments and approximately 7,000 square feet of
 retail, restaurant, and entertainment space; the project serves as
 an anchor for the city's revitalized downtown and has been
 financially beneficial for the community, creating jobs and
 increasing property values; and
 WHEREAS, The City of Fate has earned well-deserved praise for
 its strong commitment to growth and prosperity, and area residents
 may indeed take pride in this prestigious recognition; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the City of
 Fate on its receipt of a 2021 Community Economic Development Award
 from the Southern Economic Development Council and extend to the
 city's officials and staff sincere best wishes for continued
 success with their important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the City of Fate as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
